Insight Works released Order Fulfillment Worksheet v1.6 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, introducing usability enhancements to custom views including default settings, improved formatting, and dynamic date placeholders to help fulfillment teams answer “What can we ship today?” faster and more efficiently.
Insight Works, a leading provider of specialized extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, today announced the release of Order Fulfillment Worksheet version 1.6. This update delivers targeted usability improvements to custom views, making it even easier for warehouse managers, fulfillment specialists, and inventory teams to focus on what matters most: shipping in-stock orders quickly and accurately. The Order Fulfillment Worksheet is a compact, powerful tool designed specifically for Business Central users who need real-time answers to the question, “What can we ship today?” It scans open sales and transfer orders by location, calculates availability status (fully available, partially available, move-required, etc.), allocates inventory intelligently from top to bottom (accounting for existing picks and shipments), and enables fast creation of warehouse picks, shipments, or printable instructions.
Prioritizing in-stock orders and simplifying backorder management helps teams avoid wasted effort on unfulfillable lines and improve overall warehouse throughput.
Key enhancements in v1.6
Default view management: Set or clear a default custom view directly from the Edit View page, so your preferred setup, such as sorting by shipment date or filtering to released orders only, loads automatically every session with no manual reapplication needed. Improved filter formatting: Cleaner, more consistent display of complex filters for easier reading, team sharing, and quick troubleshooting. Dynamic date/time placeholders: Support for placeholders like “@Today”, “@ThisWeek”, and relative offsets such as “Shipment Date <= @Today + 7” in filters, keeping views up to date automatically for recurring daily or weekly checks. These refinements build on the app’s core strengths, which include real-time order tracking, smart allocation, automated pick and shipment creation, and seamless compatibility with any Business Central warehousing configuration, including essential, inventory, warehouse, or directed put-away and pick.
The release arrives at an opportune time. Microsoft has just made the public preview of Business Central 2026 release wave 1 (Update 28.0) available in early March 2026, alongside the March cumulative updates, including Update 27.5 for 2025 wave 2. As core platform capabilities in supply chain, warehouse operations, and efficiency continue to evolve, extensions like Order Fulfillment Worksheet provide immediate, complementary tools to help fulfillment teams maintain control and productivity.
Availability and Compatibility
Order Fulfillment Worksheet v1.6 is now available on the Microsoft Marketplace. It requires Business Central 14 or later, Insight Works Common 2.18 or later, and Insight Works App Registration 1.2 or later. Licensing is subscription-based with full user access, and an Essential license is required.
